My name is Kaylie and I am raising funds to help me repair or replace my car that was badly damaged in a freak accident. On Saturday May 9, I was on my way to get ice cream with my mom and my dog, Juniper. While driving, a massive tree limb fell on top of my car. Thankfully, my mother, my dog, and I were relatively unharmed. We made it out with minor scrapes from the broken windshield and some soreness. However, the limb did extensive damage to my Honda Pilot and it is likely totaled. It is currently being inspected by my auto insurance company. According to locals of the area, the tree has been unhealthy and a safety hazard for a long time. We are looking into getting the property owner's insurance to cover it, but we are early in that process and there are a lot of unknowns.

I am currently on a leave of absence from medical school, so as you can imagine, money is tight. Even though I have good insurance, I will still be taking a loss out of pocket.
