Help Replace Josh's bike!

My name is Matt, I am one of Josh's good friends. Josh has a lot of good friends, because that is the kind of guy he is. Nice, giving, and always good for a laugh! But Josh hasn't been laughing lately, and I want to help fix that.

Years ago in 2019, we ran a GoFundMe to help Josh get a bike. This wasn't just any bike, it was a specialty made recumbent bike with a motor, bags, and many additions to help. You see, Josh has Multiple Sclerosis. This debilitating disease has unfortunately taken away a lot of strength and stability from Josh. Before the diagnosis he was always active, energetic, and loved exploration and travel. MS took that away from him.

We wanted to help give back to the one who is always so giving, and Josh's close friends chipped in on a GoFundMe to get him this bike. And, it was successful! He picked up his bike and was able to travel again. Explored all around his home and beyond. He could be himself again! About a year ago, Josh moved to Spokane, Washington. A new area to explore, great trails, and a wonderful outdoor community. He pulled his bike out of storage, moved it into his garage and got ready to get it serviced to ride again.

But this week, his garage was broken into. His bike, along with many valuable tools, was stolen from him. The move to Spokane has been an exciting but frustrating one. With over 20 offers put on different homes, the home that they ended in having MANY unforeseen repairs needed, upwards of $15,000, and now, on top of that, the loss of his tools and bike.

I want to help get Josh back on his bike! the bike plus all of the accoutrement ended up being about $8,000. He lost about $2,000 in tools, and to reframe and upgrade the door to his shed will probably run about $1,000. I am looking to help raise money to replace these items! Insurance typically asks for many receipts and proof of purchase, which most of that is no longer around. Josh changed banks recently, so he can't go back into his purchase history to look up proof of purchase. Not to mention, how often has insurance ever come out on your side?

I hope that if there is any money raised beyond the cost of replacement of his items, it can be used to help him invest in security and upgrades for his house so he can feel safe in his home again. Not to mention, he and his wife were put in a tough spot with this house and it would be great to help them get repairs done to get it up to code!

Spokane is my hometown, and Josh is my family. I want to show him what Spokane and his family can do for him after how much he has done for so many. Let's help him out!
