Dear friends and community members,

Over the summer Fiddletown's Historic Marker was stolen, like so many other historic bronze markers across our state. This plaque stood for nearly 80 years, sharing the town's history with visitors and locals. The Fiddletown Preservation Society is working to replace this community symbol, which will be secured in a new fashion in order to prevent theft again.

The cost to replace the plaque is $5,000. Please help us return our cherished historic plaque to its rightful place. Theft cannot deter the charm and resilience of this historic old gold-mining town. Your donations will help to restore this important piece of California history. Fiddletown is on the national and state registers of historic places.

The new marker will be dedicated June 27th of this year. Come and be part of this triumphant historic return of our beloved plaque.
