Hi everybody. As you may have already seen on the news, I was arrested while protesting the inhumane conditions at the ICE abduction facility in Broadview, IL on Friday, November 14th. During the kerfuffle, I lost my prescription eyeglasses.

I'm asking for $1000 for two reasons. I'm currently unemployed, and my prescription is for progressive lenses, and they cost around $400 just for the lenses. The frames will be about $150.

I'm unsure how much GoFundMe takes from each transaction.

My hope is that by asking everyone for a small donation, I can prevent anyone from coming out of pocket hundreds of dollars.

EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR OVER THE COST OF MY GLASSES WILL BE DONATED TO A LOCAL FOOD BANK TO HELP THOSE AFFECTED BY THE SNAP CUTOFFS.

UPDATE: I've had to move my travel plans forward a day as my court date was set to December 3rd, the day I'd planned to fly to CA. I will use a portion of what's contributed to offset the cost of that travel update. Thank you again.
