Hi,
As some of you may already know, our friend Ali recently had his computer stolen. Despite having insurance, the insurance company in question has decided that theft is not a legitimate basis for an insurance claim, and the shared office from where the computer was stolen has been similarly unhelpful.

As a freelance video editor/director, this is his work computer, and without it he cannot do his job. Also, the nature of his work means that the kind of computer he uses will be quite expensive to replace.
This is obviously a very difficult time financially and otherwise for a great number of people and there are no doubt more worthy causes than this to contribute to. But we just thought it would be nice if some of his friends (who want to, and are able to) chip in a few quid to make buying a new computer slightly easier.

A few final points:
-Ali doesn't know about this and we are hoping to keep it a surprise. Please feel free to share the page with his friends but avoid posting it on social media
-You can donate anonymously
-If by some twist of fate the insurance company changes its mind, or the computer turns up, any money raised will be donated to charity. Open to suggestions, but Cancer Research UK seems like a good choice
Finally, to stress again - we are just trying to do something nice for a friend, nothing more. Anything you can spare is very gratefully received.
Thank you!
