Help Replace a Stolen Hyundai

Hello!

On December 6th, I walked out of my house to find that my car was missing. After walking around in the cold looking for it for 20 minutes, it sank in that it had been stolen. I felt scared, defeated, and deeply lost.

It’s a Hyundai, so I’ve known it was a possibility. I did everything I could to prevent it, and I haven’t been in a position to replace it yet.

Due to the age of the vehicle, comprehensive insurance would have cost more than the car is worth, so there is no insurance payout to help with this.

The last year and a half has been hard emotionally and financially. Between the loss of my brother and recovering from that, and a sudden emergency situation in my household that meant I was covering nearly twice my normal bills for several months, my savings have taken a serious toll. These compounding factors have also damaged my credit, so getting a loan with manageable terms is not the best option.

The police did find it but by then the damage was done. They had it taken to a salvage yard and I'm already in the hole $140 to get it back into my possession.

I spoke with the technicians at the body shop where I work and even at the most basic repair, getting the car fully operational will cost more than it is worth. Even if I did fix it, it won’t prevent it from being stolen again in the future.

I’m asking for any assistance in buying a replacement car. I don’t need anything fancy, just a dependable set of wheels (that isn’t easily stolen if you follow a TikTok trend).

It would mean more than I can truly say if you donated any amount at all, equally as much if you would please share this with others. I am borrowing a car from a family member while he’s on paternity leave, but that’s going to end in a few weeks.
