- I
We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our dear friend Mohamed Akazou, a beloved member of our British Moroccan Diversity (BMD) community. He tragically suffered a heart attack, and despite his wife’s desperate efforts to save him and the quick arrival of the ambulance, he sadly passed away. He leaves behind his devoted wife and two young sons, who are now facing immense emotional and financial hardship.
He always said that if anything ever happened to him, he wanted to be buried in Morocco, his homeland. His parents, who still live there, wish to see him one last time and be present for his burial. It is therefore very important for us to help fulfill his final wish and bring him home to rest.
As a Moroccan community, we always stand together in times of need, especially when one of our own passes away far from home. It is our wish to help his family repatriate him to Morocco, where he can be laid to rest with dignity among his loved ones. The total cost for the repatriation and burial is £4,000, which his wife cannot afford alone.
We kindly ask everyone in our community, and anyone who feels moved by this tragedy, to donate whatever they can and share this fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the burden on his grieving family and bring him home to his final resting place.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and support.
