Help Repatriate Nadia Christensen to Cameroon
Donation protected
We are deeply saddened to share the story of Nadia Christensen, born Bidzogo Nemy Scholastique Nadège on July 9, 1986, in Cameroon. Nadia immigrated to the United States in 2018, full of hope and ambition for a better future. In the years that followed, she experienced both love and loss — she married and built a life in Florida, but tragically lost her husband just three years ago. She had no children and had been living alone since his passing.
On a day that no one expected, Nadia passed away suddenly six weeks ago. Her body now lies at Tampa Hospital’s morgue, unclaimed and under increasing pressure from hospital authorities to either be removed or cremated through public services. Nadia had no immediate family in the U.S., no known life insurance, and no one nearby to handle her affairs. Her situation has become one of heartbreaking isolation — a soul at rest, but without closure.
Nadia’s mother, Micheline Olomo, who resides in Cameroon, has not seen her daughter since she left for the U.S. seven years ago. As any mother would, she is devastated by the news of her daughter's passing. Her only remaining wish is to see her daughter one last time, and to bring her home to Cameroon for a proper burial, surrounded by family, tradition, and love.
Micheline has formally entrusted and mandated us to help fulfill this wish — and we are asking for your support.
Campaign Goal: $10,500
This GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $10,5
00 to:
- Repatriate Nadia’s remains from Tampa, Florida to Cameroon
- Cover international funeral and transportation costs
- Assist Micheline with arrangements and burial expenses in Cameroon
Without support, Nadia’s remains may be cremated anonymously, far from her homeland and her grieving mother — a fate she does not deserve.
We believe in the power of community and compassion.
Whether you knew Nadia personally or are simply moved by her story, we ask you to help us honor her life by making sure she is laid to rest with dignity and love. Every contribution — no matter how small — brings us one step closer to reuniting a mother and daughter, even in parting.
Please help us give Nadia the farewell she deserves — and Micheline the closure she so deeply needs.
Thank you,
On behalf of Micheline Olomo and all who cared for Nadia
Message from the Campaign Organizer
My name is Armel Oum Maemble, and I was personally contacted by Micheline Olomo, the grieving mother of Nadia Christensen, to help her fulfill one last wish — to bring her daughter home to Cameroon for a proper burial. Though I did not know Nadia closely, her story deeply moved me, and I could not stay indifferent.
This campaign is being organized solely to support the repatriation of Nadia’s remains and help her mother find peace in this heartbreaking moment. All funds raised will go directly toward covering the cost of transportation, funeral arrangements, and related expenses.
Thank you for trusting me with your kindness. Your support truly means the world — and together, we can give Nadia the dignity she deserves and offer her mother the chance to say goodbye.
With gratitude
