In September 2022, Humayun Kabir arrived in the United States with his family, filled with hope and determination to build a better future. He had just started his dream job with Tata Consultancy Services in Houston, Texas, and was on track to achieve the American Dream.

But tragedy struck on what should have been just another evening. While walking home from a grocery store, a reckless driver hit him, leaving him with severe brain damage, a broken hip, fractured leg, and a punctured lung. Despite the heroic efforts of the doctors at Ben Taub Hospital, his injuries were too severe, and he was placed on life support.

Beyond his professional success, Humayun Kabir was the heart of his family. He was a devoted father, a beloved uncle, and a guiding presence for those around him. He always made sure his loved ones were taken care of, often reminding them to eat healthily—except when he wasn't following the proper diet himself! His warmth, humor, and selflessness made him truly irreplaceable.

A Family in Pain, A Final Journey Home

Doctors have now confirmed that there is no hope for recovery, and his grieving family is preparing to send his body back to Bangladesh—his homeland, where his loved ones can lay him to rest.

This heartbreaking reality comes with an overwhelming financial burden. Repatriation, funeral expenses, and medical bills have placed the family in an impossible situation.
