Dear Compassionate Souls,

I pen this heartfelt appeal on behalf of the Sanathana Dharma Vidhyalaya Aided Primary School in the village of Kottaiyur near Karaikudi in the state of Tamilnadu state in India. Here, young students from relatively poor families gather to get their basic elementary education, their only hope out of poverty. The school lacks basic facilities like class rooms big enough to accommodate them, leak proof roof over their heads, furniture to sit on and work and toilets enough for teachers and students of all genders. These 125 children belong to families who toil in the fields, their sweat nourishing the soil, yet their own aspirations parched by poverty. The fundraising is an attempt to get the basic needs, supplies and facilities for them to get their day go buy without worrying about simple things.

Why Donate?

1. Repair school building: The school’s roof, weathered by time and storms, can no longer shield these young souls from the elements. A new roof would be a sanctuary—a promise that learning need not be a battle against nature. They are also looking to expand their classrooms in the neighboring small building that they are trying to repair, reconfigure to a very minimum standard.

2. Basic Furniture: Imagine a classroom without desks or chairs. Children sit on the floor, their legs crossed, backs hunched. Their determination, however, remains unwavering.
