Help Repair Our Furnace Warm Hearts For Christmas
Donation protected
Port Morris United Methodist Church has been a vital and active congregation in Roxbury Township, NJ for nearly 150 years! Now, this congregation is in desperate need of assistance. We had an oil furnace fire and are now in need of an IMMEDIATE replacement and none of the costs involved are covered by insurance. Our fundraising goal is desperately needed in order to be able to open our doors in time for Christmas services and continue our outreach efforts near and far*.
Some of you may know us for our tasty pasties; some may have brought their children to our annual Easter Egg hunt we had for 31 years. Others may have attended our ecumenical nativity program or worshipped at our Christmas Eve Service. You may have benefited from one of the church’s outreaches or know someone who has.
On Sunday mornings, you can hear our bell ring out seven times. That bell came from a train engine. This church is also a part of local history. We were started as a church for railroad workers. Besides our bell coming from an engine, our chancel rail the letters that make the word Emmanuel over our altar come from a rail coach dining car.
Please consider donating to make our place of worship safe and sustainable, welcoming and warm (in more ways than one) for generations to come!
We appreciate you and every penny received as we work to REPAIR OUR CHURCH!

* Our church and its congregation has a long history of devotion in reaching out to the community and beyond. For 31 years, our Easter Bunny visited with children at Port Morris Park for an Easter egg Hunt. We opened our Vacation Bible Schools to all. Our annual Ecumenical Christmas Arts program has donated its offering to the Lake Hopatcong Association of Churches food Pantry. We've run food drives, school supply drives, collected pet food for shelter animals, etc. Our members, both young and old, are active in sharing love and joy throughout our community and the world.
