I’m Patti, from the central coast of California and came to the area to assist my older brother, who was diagnosed with cancer. Mike sadly passed away in 2023. In 2024, I purchased a shuttle bus and converted it into an RV, hoping to have a safe and comfortable place to live while traveling and finding some peace after his loss. Unfortunately, the seller used another vehicle to pass a smog test and did not disclose that the catalytic converter had been stolen. Instead, it was replaced with a metal pipe, which cannot pass smog in California. The bus was previously used as a school bus in Los Angeles and was smog exempt due to state requirements, but now needs proper exhaust and emissions testing to transfer ownership.

As someone who is disabled and living on Social Security, I simply do not have the resources to cover emergencies like this. I moved out of my home to make the RV my travel the West home, and now, if I cannot complete the necessary repairs within two months according to DMV regulations, I will need to change plans quickly. That will be expensive as well. The funds raised will allow me to repair my shuttle bus, keep my home, and continue to travel and maintain some independence. My 10-year-old kitty, Tuna, would be very grateful as well.

I have always lived moderately and have not had the opportunity to save for emergencies. Becoming disabled in 2011 made saving even more difficult. I would be forever grateful for the much needed support at a pretty dark time. I do not have family members or friends because all have unfortunately passed. It’s tough not having anyone to talk to or lean on once in a great while. I so appreciate any help so I can repair my Bus and do a bit of traveling before I’m unable to. My kitty, Tuna, would be grateful too.
