Hi friends, I’m Layla and I have started this fundraiser for my dear friend Kuma who is from Sri Lanka and could really use your help right now.

I met Kuma after I was hospitilized after a bad foot injury which caused me to not be able to walk for over a month. My friend went to visit me in the hospital after he was brought there with the help of Kuma, his tuktuk driver.

After meeting Kuma he offered me to take me home when I could leave the hospital, and he did. He brought me food, he brought me flowers, fresh juices, fruit, while I was unable to get out of my room for this time and refusing to accept the money I wanted to give him for all that he got me. I was invited to eat over at his place where his wife, mother and kids cooked a full table of food and with all smiles on their faces. Kuma took care of me for all these weeks, bringing me my favorite egg chicken roti from a spot 20 minutes out of town for days straight. Eventhough he would have a hard time finding the right words in English, we bonded so much. His care, smile and warm heart made him feel like some sort of long lost uncle taking me into his heart and family!!

Now he’s the one that’s in need of help. He unfortunately had an accident that completely broke down his tuktuk - his only source of income. He is unable to cover the costs of the repair while also having injured his leg. He has a full family to take care of, with a sick son that needs ongoing medical bills to be payed for as well.

He’s carrying a lot right now but still hesitates to reach out for help. The full costs to help him repair his tuktuk is not much, so hereby I am hoping I can gather together some people that are willing to make a donation to help him from his worries and get him his tuktuk back. This way he can take care of his family again, bring smiles to faces and make peoples day with all his good intentions just as he did to me <3
