Hi my name is Lisa Thornton. I would like to tell all our friends and family what has been going on with us the past 8 months. Back in November I asked for prayer for Brad about him going through some serious health issues. He had advanced congestive heart failure. Through the following months Brad saw several cardiac specialist and then in March we were told that he needed to be evaluated to be put on a heart transplant list. After months of all kinds of test and doctor appointments we were told this past Monday that he was not approved for the transplant list because his heart will not last long enough for a transplant. The transplant surgeons are going to go in and try to do bypass surgery. They don't know how many bypasses they will be able to do until they get in there. Most probably they will need to install a temporary VAD (ventricular assist device). If this does not fix the problem then they will schedule another surgery to install a permanent VAD until he could be put on the transplant list. We are needing these funds to help cover our out of pocket and travel expenses. The surgery will take place in Temple, Texas which is about 100 miles from our house. Brad will be in the hospital for a minimum of 7 days and I will need to stay close by. We appreciate everyone's prayers and any help that can be given.
