Help Reopen Westfield Chess Club OTB Tournaments

Calling out to all chess lovers, you can help our beloved Westfield Chess Club re-open for over the board (OTB) tournaments!


Established in the early 1940's, the Westfield Chess Club is New Jersey's most prestigious chess club. Almost every chess player in the tri-state area has benefited from the wonderful Westfield Chess Club community. Not only is this the place to meet worthy opponents, but it is also the place to meet with friends and catch up.


Unfortunately, the club's weekly, in-person, USCF-rated events were shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic on March 10, 2020 and, in 20 months without them, the club's treasury took a sizable hit.


The Westfield Chess Club anticipates re-opening for OTB tournaments in January 2022 and will be incurring some associated expenses in the weeks preceding, such as: web hosting, domain dues, donation to the YMCA and insurance.


So, let's all try our best to help out and reduce the burden from the Westfield Chess Club's managers. This is a team effort. We and the club would very much appreciate it if you also want to be part of this fundraising team!
