Last night, my niece’s family experienced a devastating and unexpected tragedy. Severe winds and heavy rain caused the roof of their beloved diner, The New Santiago’s Diner, to suddenly collapse. By what feels like nothing short of a miracle, they had left the building just 30 minutes before—it’s hard not to think about how much worse this could have been.
While we are incredibly grateful that no one was hurt, the damage to the diner is overwhelming. This isn’t just a building My nieces father has poured countless hours, energy, and love into cooking and building the majority of it himself. It's become a place where regulars feel like family, and where so many memories have been made.
Now, in a matter of moments, everything has been turned upside down.
They are facing a long and difficult road to rebuild, and we are asking for any support you can give. Whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page, every bit helps bring them one step closer to reopening their doors and welcoming their community back home.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
