Help reopen the Gooseberry Patch Restaurant

Donation protected
The Gooseberry Patch Restaurant has been serving Fremont County and the surrounding communities with home-style meals for over 30 years. However on Friday, December 27th, just two days after Christmas, a small electrical fire started in one of the kitchen fryers; which has caused enough damage in the kitchen that the Gooseberry Patch will not be able to reopen until repairs are made.   Tim and Barb Martin opened the restaurant in Penrose, Colorado in 1987. Since opening, they have also personally opened their hearts to anyone who has walked through the doors. Whether it's cooking a meal; having a friendly conversation; or hiring a person in need; Tim and Barb have poured their hearts in to providing Fremont County with a warm, family friendly environment to have a good meal. Over the years the Gooseberry Patch has employed  students, families, and those in need of work. They have gone out of their way to bless the elderly and those less fortunate. The restaurant has donated numerous pies to the Apple Day Festivities and countless meals to those in need. They have hosted parties for many local organizations, such as the Sheriff's Department and the Chamber of Commerce. Customers come from all over Colorado to see the Gooseberry Patch and families marvel at the train that run's around the dining room.  Upon walking in the door, you are greeted with smiles from Tim and Barb, a shelf full of homemade jellies and jams and a cooler full of pies.  The Gooseberry Patch has become a staple in the community and the Martin's are a second family to many of us. As a prior employee and native to the Fremont County area, I couldn't imagine Penrose without the Gooseberry Patch and all that the restaurant means. You're donation will help the Gooseberry Patch get back on their feet; and among other things, be able to help provide a wage to employees who are now out of work and replace all of the lost food damaged by smoke during the fire. The longer the restaurant is closed, the longer the Martin family and their staff will be out of work. Any donation would be greatly appreciated so they can once again open their doors to serving Fremont County. Thank you for your consideration.
