Hello everyone! I am a current employee of the Antique Kitchen diner and this is our story-

Established in 1971, the Antique Kitchen diner has served generations of families, friends and, most importantly, the best omelette in Portage, Michigan. The breakfast restaurant was more than just a mainstay in the community- it was home away from home. On Sunday, January 25 staff was informed the restaurant would be closing its doors at the end of day, without warning or time to prepare our loyal patrons. This unexpected foreclosure by the previous owners has left the community deeply saddened by the loss and the employees scrambling to defend the business’ 35 year legacy.

Unprepared, now unemployed and unwilling to accept this fate, the staff has banded together with the ORIGINAL OWNER Jackie Dutton to re-open the diner and restore it to its former glory!!

We’re currently working hard painting, cleaning and providing some overall TLC to the building to get it ready for re-opening by the end of February 2026. We have the skill, tenacity and talent, however, the building requires some more attention than we can afford to attend to at this moment. Listed below are the items we looking to fix through donations, whether that be skills, materials, time, spare cash or a simple share. A special thank-you event will take place for those who donate .
