REIGNIGHT SF Laser into Space - Covid Memorial

On February 12, 2021 in San Francisco from 4pm-11pm, a giant display of lasers called the Space Cannon will be visible from anywhere in the greater Bay Area. The massive beacon, permitted by the FAA, will be shooting straight into space from the rooftop of Monarch to commemorate the nightlife industry and promote ways we must act to ensure the return of gatherings. The event is organized in collaboration with Soundpieces, a team that hosted 7 years of weekly events at Monarch since its opening. They are calling on society near and far to participate by watching the event from home or outside, which will feature a fundraiser and live stream of DJs from different production crews in the city.

It’s been almost a year since life as we know it was abruptly altered by the global pandemic, halting gatherings and crippling nightlife culture. Despite millions of lives lost, society is still not taking the virus seriously enough. San Francisco has been an historic hub for music for generations, but Covid has permanently closed dozens of legendary venues, and continues to threaten the live music industry.

This beacon is geared to promote the federal mask mandate and encourage vaccinations, hopefully reducing the stigma that misinformation and conspiracies have pushed. The future of our industry is dependent on society taking these measures seriously, as the nightlife of the future will likely require attendees to be vaccinated and continue wearing masks. Society as a whole must trust science to successfully get back to our regular lives.

The owner of the Space Cannon is Tim Anderson of Nu-salt Laser, who operates and helped build the massive beacon. Visit This event is FAA permitted.

With your help of donation we can pay our back bills, and reopen once again.

And bring back that San Francisco feeling to going out, and having a good night.

We cant wait to see you all on the dance floor and rocking the stage again.

Cheers from the Monarch and Great Northern Team.
