Help reopen Dear Globe Coffee and Gallery
Help reopen Dear Globe Coffee café and art gallery!
We need your help to reopen our brick and mortar.
Help us continue our creative journey with coffee and art.
We’d love to continue serving you our delicious fresh roasted coffee, creative beverages and small plates. We also are ecstatic to begin the operation of a new art
gallery and work on contributing to our local art community and economy.
Our new home will be in the Four Ten Lofts artists development in the Bromo Arts District.
We’re really excited to stay in the neighborhood, our new location will be easily walkable from our old Coffeebar on Howard Street. Dear Globe will be able to
continue to serve our Mount Vernon, Seton Hill and Midtown neighbors as well as our creative community in Market Center.
Plans for Funds:
While we still have much of our equipment from our previous location, we are
starting something new and need to buildout. Funding will be used for tenant specific additions including the building of a new counterspace, plumbing specific to the local health code, and updated electrical for our espresso machine.
Beyond this, additional funds will be used to help start our new arts programming and curation.
Creative Community - Cotyledon:
Dear Globe will open a professional art gallery promoting the work of emerging
and intermediate artists. Dear Globe’s art gallery will be operated as
Cotyledon Arts, Cotyledon refers to the nutrient filled leaves in the seed of a plant,
representing the nascent, creative energy that exists within us all.
The art gallery is an adjoining space to the café on the ground floor of 422 W. Mulberry.
Cotyledon Arts’ mission is to provide a professional exhibition space for artists with diversity of disciplines and education, welcoming artists with or without academic backgrounds, providing a platform and needed exposure for emergent and fresh contemporary art.
Cotyledon will complement a growing community of artists in the district and
provide not only exhibition opportunities but also provide equitable and accessible creative forum and artist network.
Dear Globe and Cotyledon Arts, owned by a woman and minority, will promote
the importance of opportunities for women and BIPOC in the art realm.
We will have regular community forums about art and environment.
We will create opportunities for collaborative curation and hope to foster nationwide and international art connections.
