On Monday, January 26, our beloved father, Renzo Castro La Mata, was brutally attacked by two dogs while returning home after his daily exercise routine in the district of Pachacámac in Lima, Peru. Renzo is a lifelong athlete and a devoted father of four daughters, one of whom has special needs. This attack has completely changed his life.
The dogs attacked without warning, causing severe and deep injuries to his legs, arms, and multiple parts of his body. Despite trying to defend himself, the dogs knocked him to the ground repeatedly due to their ferocity. Thanks to the brave intervention of a passing mototaxi driver, a tragedy even worse was avoided.
Renzo was rushed to a local medical post and then transferred immediately to the hospital, where he underwent major reconstructive surgery to repair damaged tissue and muscle. He currently has over 100 stitches across his body and remains under close medical observation.
At this time, the owner of the dogs has not taken responsibility, leaving our family to face overwhelming medical costs. In addition to hospital bills and surgery, Renzo will require ongoing medical care, physical therapy, and rehabilitation to regain mobility. He will also be unable to work for an extended period, creating significant financial strain on our family.

El lunes 26 de enero, nuestro querido padre Renzo Castro La Mata fue brutalmente atacado por dos perros mientras regresaba a su vivienda luego de realizar su rutina diaria de ejercicios, en el distrito de Pachacámac.
Renzo es un deportista de toda la vida y padre de cuatro hijas, una de ellas con necesidades especiales. El ataque ocurrió de manera repentina y violenta, causándole heridas profundas en las piernas, brazos y en múltiples partes del cuerpo. A pesar de intentar defenderse, los perros lo derribaron en varias ocasiones debido a la ferocidad del ataque.
Gracias a la valiente intervención de un mototaxista que pasaba por la zona, se evitó una tragedia aún mayor. Renzo fue trasladado de urgencia a una posta médica y posteriormente al hospital, donde tuvo que someterse a una cirugía reconstructiva para reparar tejido y músculo gravemente dañados. Actualmente, tiene más de 100 puntos de sutura en todo el cuerpo y permanece bajo estricta observación médica.
Hasta el momento, el dueño de los perros no ha asumido responsabilidad alguna, lo que ha dejado a nuestra familia enfrentando sola los elevados gastos médicos. Además de la cirugía y hospitalización, Renzo necesitará terapias de rehabilitación y fisioterapia para poder recuperarse. Durante este tiempo, no podrá trabajar, lo que representa una gran carga económica para nuestra familia.
