Help Renovate for my Hubby's Recovery at Home
Donation protected

My loving husband started having severe health problems this July and has been unable to work since then. He has been hospitalized seven times since July! He has just had to have a below-knee amputation to begin on the (long) road to recovery. We've been advised that it will take longer than usual due to his yet undiagnosed issues with kidney and blood marrow function. In the meantime, we are living on my teacher's salary.
Our bedroom and full bathroom are upstairs. I am asking for help to add a chair lift and a walk in shower so he can eventually recover at home. The chair lift costs about $2000 plus installation. The walk in shower will cost about $7000. Since our living room is sunken, I also want to install ramps to make it easier for him to move around with his wheelchair and walker. We will need ramps at the front door and garage, too. 4 ramps, a walker, crutches, a bath seat, plus anything else the rehab team recommends will be about $3000.
Please help us make our home more comfortable and accessible so my hubs can heal and recover in his favorite place—home!
