Renoir, our German Shepherd, was rescued from an abusive situation when he was just one year old. He is the most gentle and loving good boy ever. He’s been by our side for 8 years since, and soon in February, it will be his 9th birthday. But we don’t know if he’ll make it.
This is to raise funds for his life-saving surgery because without it, Renoir will inevitably pass away from painful internal bleeding.
On the night of January 25, Renoir was rushed to the emergency hospital because he refused to eat his dinner, and we knew something was wrong. We just thought maybe he had an upset stomach again, but after rounds of testing, the diagnosis came out to cancerous tumors in the spleen and he needs surgery ASAP or else he will not make it. He was lethargic and the doctor recommended euthanasia, but when my mom was leaving the room, he was trying his best to get up and follow her. Renoir has abandonment anxiety because he has been thrown around several owners before he came to us, but now he refuses to leave our side. When I was younger and my siblings and I fought, he would come in between us, or whenever I stayed up late, he would knock on my door and check on me.
He has been fighting and even with internal bleeding, he tries to stand up and follow us. He wants to fight and deserves to, but the surgery is extremely expensive and we have already paid thousands in vet bills. It has been heavy for my family financially and mentally.
Today, Renoir has been eating his food and getting up to drink water. He is battling to be with us, and we want to ensure we can do everything for him. We love Renoir so much, and he has been my little brother since I was in middle school. I can’t bear the thought of losing him, especially when treatment is possible. We just want him to be happy and run around the park with his dog friends again.
My parents are taking time off work to be with Renoir 24/7 as he is still unstable. Any support is sincerely appreciated. ❤️ We are taking him to different vets for opinions and he will get surgery soon. All donations will support his vet bills so that we can get him all the treatments he needs so he can go home again. Thank you all so much.
