Help Renick and Alyssa After Being Displaced By Helene

As many of you know, Hurricane Helene has destroyed much of the Asheville area and Western North Carolina. My partner Alyssa and I (Renick), along with our dog Cosmo, live in Swannanoa, east of Asheville, which suffered extensive destruction and loss.

Alyssa and I are grateful to be well and alive. The living space, a 1-bedroom basement apartment, we called home, as well as some of our belongings and furniture, were impacted by flooding and seepage. The space we lived in will require extensive repairs and is not currently livable. Given this reality, we have been staying with generous friends and family since the storm hit.

We are now without work due to the impact of the storm on local infrastructure and roads, and the outlook for consistent work in Asheville is uncertain at this time. We would like to remain in the Asheville area and will likely move into a new living space within the next 4-6 weeks if options within our budget are available.

I am putting together this GoFundMe to help us cover the costs of essential needs (food, gas, temporary lodging), replace damaged items, moving expenses, and other bills (car insurance, minimum payments on debt) over the next 6 weeks.

I understand many in our area are in dire need right now. We are grateful for whatever support you might be able to offer at this time.
