My name is Rene, and I am the eldest child in my family. On Saturday, February 7 at exactly 10:30, I was chased by immigration officers. They even pulled out their tasers in front of my five younger siblings, including my two-month-old baby sister. That day, my dad was detained by immigration, leaving my mom to care for all of us on her own. This sudden separation has been incredibly hard on us, both emotionally and financially. We are now facing urgent legal fees and the cost of bail to bring my dad home, as well as the daily expenses that come with supporting a large family.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward covering my dad’s legal expenses, his bail, and helping my mom provide for my siblings and our baby sister. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference in keeping our family together and giving us hope during this uncertain time.
I also have a video recording of my dad being detained and taken away, which shows just how difficult this has been for our family. I’m sharing this to help others understand what we’re going through and why your support means so much.
I want to extend a special thank you to Arturo Gonzalez for being there for us and for his work with the organization supporting families like mine in San Diego. Your kindness and support mean the world to us. If you’re able to donate or share our story, we would be deeply grateful. Thank you for standing with us and helping our family through this difficult journey.
