Our mom, Renee, has bravely battled stage three cancer for over three years. Through constant pain and sleepless nights for the last 3 years she has remained strong, hopeful, and full of grace. While her treatment has managed to keep the cancer at bay and prevent it from spreading, the location makes surgery unavoidable.

She is healthy enough that chemo and radiation now can be completely avoided — an incredible blessing — and now she is preparing for her next major step: surgery at UCSF in San Francisco to remove the cancer and stop it in its tracks. The procedure will require five nights in the hospital, followed by about two months of recovery at home as she acclimates to life with new adjustments.

This fundraiser is something very special — it’s a SURPRISE for our parents. They have been so focused on fighting cancer and staying positive that they have never asked for financial help. We want to lift that weight from their shoulders and gift them peace of mind as they face this next chapter. Please help us keep this campaign a secret until we’re ready to present it as a collective gift of love and support.

The surgery itself, along with the hospital stay, comes with significant costs! In addition, San Francisco is three hours from their home in Grass Valley, so our dad, Shannon, will need to cover travel and hotel expenses while our mom recovers in the hospital. He has been by her side every step of the way and while the emotional burden is already heavy the financial burden does not need to be.
