Help Renee Grieve in Peace After the Brutal Loss of Her Mother
It is with unspeakable grief and outrage that we share the devastating murder of Renee’s beloved mother, Rosemary Mattessich Johnson, on September 16th — a day that should have been filled with joy, celebration, and love. It was Renee sons 6th birthday. Rosemary was supposed to come over for dinner, cake, and laughs with her family. That time never came.
While on her lunch break from work, Renee went to check in on her mother—something she often did out of love. But this visit became a nightmare no one should ever have to endure. Renee walked into her mother’s home and was met with an unimaginable scene: her mother had been brutally murdered.
No daughter should ever have to witness such horror. To see your mother in that state, stolen from you in such a violent and inhumane way, is a trauma no words can fully capture. The pain is indescribable, and the images of that day will never leave her.
As if this were not enough, Renee is a single mother of two young boys who already lost their father—and her loving husband—just one year ago. She is now trying to hold herself and her children together through unimaginable grief and trauma.
We are raising funds to help Renee take the time she desperately needs to grieve and heal. Donations will go directly toward covering her living expenses—rent, utilities, groceries, and essentials—so she can take time off work, focus on her mental and emotional healing, and be there for her boys without the crushing weight of financial stress.
This fund will also help cover the time Renee will need to take off work in the coming months to attend the trial, ensuring she can be present for her mother without the added strain of lost income.
Renee has always carried herself with strength and grace, showing up for others even in the hardest of times. Now, she needs all of us to show up for her.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign to help ease the burden Renee is carrying. Every bit of support matters.
Thank you for standing with Renee during this unimaginable time,
