Help Renee Care for Her Daughter Post-Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Renee, and I’m a single mom of three amazing kids. I’ve been self-employed for nearly three years, working hard every day to provide for my family. Life has thrown us a challenge that we can’t face alone — and I’m reaching out for support during this difficult time.
On Tuesday, June 24th, my 13-year-old daughter will be undergoing spinal surgery for scoliosis. She’ll be in the hospital for at least a week, and her recovery is expected to last between six months to a year. As her mom, there’s nothing more important to me than being by her side and making sure she gets the care, comfort, and love she needs during this painful and vulnerable time.
But being self-employed means there’s no paid time off — no safety net. I plan to take a minimum of two weeks off work to be with her during the most critical part of her recovery. During this time, we’ll have no income — and the bills won’t stop.
This is a terrifying and stressful moment, not just financially, but emotionally. As parents, we want nothing more than to protect our children from pain. Watching my daughter face something so big, so young, is heartbreaking. All I want is the peace of mind to care for her without the added pressure of wondering how we’ll keep the lights on, pay rent, or put food on the table.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help cover essential living expenses — rent, utilities, groceries — while I’m away from work to care for my daughter.
If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this campaign with your friends and community would mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for keeping us in your thoughts. Your kindness and support will help us get through this.
With gratitude,
Renee
