Help Me & My 3 Kids Keep Their Home While Fighting Medical Battles
Hi, my name is Renee.
Five months ago, my life changed in a way I never imagined. My daughter became very ill she was born with a condition called necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). One night, out of nowhere, she had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Sitting by her side, not knowing if she would make it, was the scariest moment of my life as a mother.
Since then, everything has been a fight. I don’t have family I can lean on. My children’s father lives four hours away and, while he tries to help, he can barely keep up with his own household. Two weeks into my daughter’s hospital stay, another blow hit me my car was totaled by a drunk driver. That left me without reliable transportation to take care of my kids and get back and forth to hospitals and appointments.
On top of that, the bills have not stopped coming. Between medical expenses, daily living costs, and rent, I’ve been drowning. I was approved for a rental assistance program that gave me a little bit of hope, but today I found out that because of my unemployment income only $327 a week my approval was rescinded. I also received notice that the courts have already filed for a lockout on my home.
I have three children who depend on me. We live in Philadelphia now, far from the support I once had in Johnstown, and we truly have nowhere else to go if we lose this roof over our heads.
I am desperately trying to come up with $5,000 in the next 21 days to save our home and keep my children safe and stable during this difficult time.
Every single dollar helps whether it’s $5, $10, or even just sharing this page so it reaches someone who can help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story and for caring about my little family.
With love, Renee
