Our dear friend Rene suffered an ischemic stroke on Friday and is now facing a long and difficult road to recovery. She has right-sided weakness and is currently unable to speak. She has been life-flighted to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where she is receiving critical care.

Rene is one of the most caring and loving people you could ever meet — the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone else. She adores her family, her animals, and her friends, and now she needs us.

Her husband Miguel is staying in Portland by her side, which means added expenses for transportation, housing, and daily living, on top of their regular bills back home. This unexpected situation has placed a heavy burden on their family.
