Help Renate Take a New Bite Out of Life

I'm Joseph Konrad, and our dear friend Renate Klatt, a resident at an assisted care facility in Berlin, Vermont, needs a new pair of dentures!

Sadly, while at a local rehab facility for a tune-up, somehow the staff there threw hers out! This has had a big effect on her speech, what she can eat, and her overall quality of life. Sadly, the facility has declined to pitch in for replacements or come to terms.

Our friends at Main Street Dentistry in Montpelier, Vermont, have kindly offered to break the cost of replacement into four payments. The overall cost is $4,800, of which we now have $1,500 pledged by friends and parishioners of St. Jacob of Alaska Orthodox Church.

So our remaining goal to get Renate biting again is $3,300.

A little about Renate. She's one tough and remarkable lady. She was born in Berlin, Germany, before the Second World War. She survived the siege of Berlin in 1945 and went on to a fruitful career as a nurse, working in places as various as Chile and New York City. She settled in Vermont and built her own house! Now she's back in Berlin again, only it's Berlin, Vermont. She has a wonderful network of supporters, but they need extra help to get this across the finish line.
