Help My Family Recover After a Medical Emergency

Hi, my name is Rena Mallet-Smith, and I’m reaching out with a humble and grateful heart to ask for support during one of the most challenging moments of our lives.

A few days ago, my husband suffered a mild heart attack that turned our world upside down. After being admitted to the hospital, doctors found a severe blockage (99%), making the heart attack more than mild, and had to place a stent to save his life. While we are so thankful that he is still with us, his recovery is far from over. In just a few weeks, he will need to undergo another procedure to place a second stent on the other side of his heart.

He is currently unable to work, and as his wife and full-time caregiver, I’m doing my best to hold our family together. We recently welcomed our third beautifully baby girl, who is just 9 months old. We also have two sweet daughters, ages 5 and 7, who are full of love and energy.

Until recently, I was receiving unemployment benefits (due to an unexpected layoff) to help with our living expenses, but my last check came in just last week. Now, with no income, three children to care for, and medical bills continuing to grow, I’m at a loss and humbly asking for help.
