Coping with the loss

Hi, my name is Sara and I’m fundraising for my sister Renae and her dad Lance. I met Renae nearly 16 years ago through big brothers big sisters of Lethbridge. I was lucky enough to be matched with her as her “big sister” and ever since she’s been my family. We were one of Lethbridge longest running matches and stayed matched until she turned 18. Renae’s mom left her father to raise 4 children on his own. Lance has raised 4 children on his own, on a single income(which as we all know isn’t easy in todays day and age).

A few weeks ago, Renae’s estranged mother recently passed away, leaving Renae and her siblings grieving their mother. Renae (being next of kin to her estranged mother), at the tender age of 21, had to plan her funeral and make the generous decision to donate all her mothers organs, giving the gift of life to 8 others; proving there is good even in the darkest times. Unfortunately the grief seemed too much for Renae’s brother Tyler and he felt the only way to cope was to end his own life.

This sudden passing of Tyler has left Lance in a very difficult situation. Lance has missed much work and so has Renae.  Please if you see it in your heart to give any amount I and they will be so very grateful.

No father should have to bury his child, and no sister should have to bury her mother and brother in less than a span on a month. Please help during this time of need and help off set the cost of missed work and grief counselling.
