Hi, my name is Nichole, and I am fundraising for my sister, Renae Yamchuk, and her family after a recent house fire.
On Sunday, Renae and her three daughters experienced an electrical fire in their home. While the fire was contained quickly thanks to emergency responders, the impact has been devastating. The family has been displaced from their home, and many of their belongings have been damaged by smoke and fire retardant.
At this time, the house is not safe to live in. Only limited power is available. The furnace, fridge, and freezer are running, but the rest of the home does not have electricity. Even after the restoration team completes cleaning and repairs, the electrical system will still require significant work before the home can be fully powered and considered safe again.
Renae lives with disabilities and chronic health conditions and has faced ongoing barriers accessing consistent support. Despite doing everything she can, she has lived for years far below basic needs. Her oldest daughter works to help contribute to bills and groceries, doing her best to support the family during an already difficult time.
Right now, Renae and her daughters are separated and staying in temporary accommodations. Their cats have also been displaced. The girls are scared and overwhelmed, and the uncertainty of when they can safely return home has been incredibly hard on all of them.
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go toward immediate needs such as clothing, basic household items, temporary living expenses, and supplies to help sort and replace belongings damaged by smoke and fire.
This family is not asking for luxuries, only stability, safety, and the chance to rebuild after an unexpected and traumatic event. Any amount helps, and sharing this fundraiser is also deeply appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read and for any support you are able to offer.
