Help Rena & Marshall Rebuild After the Devastating Hunt Flood
My name is Dawn Ramirez. I live in San Antonio, Texas, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. On July 4th, my mother, Rena Bailey, and stepfather, Marshall Bailey, lost everything in the catastrophic flood that devastated the Hunt, Ingram, and Kerrville area of Texas.
The floodwaters in Hunt, Texas, where they live, rose to over 7 feet inside their home, and the river crested at 30 feet—an unimaginable force that swept through their house, destroying appliances, business computers, furniture heirlooms, and swept away their vehicles, belongings, cherished family photos, and destroyed their electric business, which they poured their lives into. They even lost a beloved cat and dear friends in this tragedy.
Right now, they are staying with friends in Kerrville, TX, grateful to be alive, but without a home or means to rebuild. They do have a small cabin, but it has no power or water—not enough for long-term shelter or recovery.
This has been an especially emotional time for our family. One year ago, on the 4th of July, my father was hospitalized with cancer. He passed away just seven days later. Now, on the anniversary of that loss, another heartbreak has hit our family.
We are devastated and overwhelmed. But we are not without hope.
Please consider helping Rena and Marshall start to rebuild their lives from this unimaginable loss. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference—whether it’s to help them find temporary housing, replace essential items, or begin the long road to restoring what was lost.
If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you send prayers and keep our family in your thoughts. And please, hug your loved ones today. Tragedy can come without warning, and nothing is more important than the people we love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
