Hi everyone, my name is Rustal, and this is my sweet golden retriever, Remy. I’ve had her since she was just 12 weeks old, and she’s been my whole world ever since. Remy has the biggest heart. She’s the kind of dog who makes everyone smile, always wagging her tail and showing love to anyone she meets. She’s been my constant companion through everything, my comfort, and my reason to smile every single day.

Recently, Remy started showing weakness in her back legs. At first, I thought it was just soreness from playing, but soon I noticed she was dragging her toes and struggling to stand after lying down. My heart sank as I watched her energy fade. After several vet visits, we were referred to PennVet Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania, where doctors suspect a serious spinal condition — possibly chronic myelopathy, spinal cord disease, or another neurological issue.

To find out exactly what’s wrong, Remy needs an MRI, spinal fluid analysis, and electrodiagnostic testing. Depending on what they find, she may also need spinal surgery and rehabilitation to regain her strength and mobility.

The total cost of her diagnostics, surgery, and post-operative rehab is estimated to be $12500, which is far more than I can afford on my own. I’m doing everything I can to give her the care she deserves, but I need help to make it possible.

Remy is still so young, only a year and a half, and she has so much life and love ahead of her. She doesn’t deserve to lose her ability to walk or play because of something we might be able to fix.
