We all have that dog.

The one who carries us through every chapter of life: college, marriage, divorce, loss, new beginnings, and everything in between. The one who sees us at our lowest and still shows up every single day with love, loyalty, and quiet strength.

For me, that dog is Remy.

Remy has been my constant. My rock. He’s moved around the country with me, stood beside me through grief and joy, and loved me unconditionally through seasons that nearly broke me. If you’ve ever had a soul-dog, you know exactly what I mean.

Recently, Remy was taken to the vet and is believed to have melanoma cancer. He has developed tumors that need to be surgically removed and biopsied to determine what we’re truly dealing with- his prognosis, what further treatment may look like, and most importantly, to relieve his discomfort and give him the best quality of life possible.

His first surgery is scheduled for April and will cost between $2,500–$2,700. This procedure is critical. It’s the first step in understanding how to move forward and how to best support him through what comes next.

If you know me, you know this is not easy for me to write. I’m usually the first person to donate a few bucks, support a fundraiser, or give back where I can. The Knotty Body has always been about community, care, and showing up for others… and we’ve proudly raised money and given back many times.

But today, I need help.

I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important. I’m asking because Remy deserves the chance to keep doing what he’s always done for me which is to be here. Any amount helps, whether it’s $5, sharing this page, or simply keeping my boy in your thoughts.
