In a recent visit to Lerie Children’s Hospital, we discovered that my youngest son Remy, has Iron Deficiency Anemia! I was aware of Remy’s Iron levels being off and have for the past couple months, rushed to change his diet — trying to get him to eat certain things has been quite the challenge (Super Picky Eater) and even in the attempts to have him eat more meals with higher counts of iron, has proven difficult!
Another thing about Remy is that he is on the autism spectrum, and has challenges with daily changes, and communication skills! He’s nonverbal, so playing by sight is the key to trying to figure out what he wants and relying on hand gestures to convey to him what he should or shouldn’t do!
As winter has gone by, Remys health hasn’t been too well! He’s been overly tired, hasn’t been one to do much running — and I just recently discovered how he’s been signaling to me that he’s been having headaches! Upon taking him to his new doctor at Lerie’s, Dr. Grey (Remys primary) has deduced that after sedating and scanning Remy, that he in fact has a developmental growth of fibroids; or leiomyomas he said!
Ive put this GoFundMe up because Remy will need surgery As Soon As Possible — and I can not afford what insurance won’t cover! — now we have Medicaid, and they are going to cover a majority of the operation, but not all! So I’m using this to reach out for help!
