Help Remy Cover Rent During Recovery

Hello friends,

I sustained a lifting injury at work on Wednesday, November 13th. While I am-VERY thankfully-eligible for Worker's Compensation through my employer, I have no idea when the Worker's Comp payment will be issued, and the amount will only be about 2/3 of my base pay rate (minus the night shift 'differential' that I rely on to beef up my hourly salary). I am facing the reality of being unable to pay rent and bills for the month of December and possibly January. I am starting to make progress with my pain management and mobility (I started physical therapy today!), but I will likely be out of work for several more weeks. I have attempted to find programs that are able to help me with this hardship, including my employer's Employee Assistance Program, but the majority of these programs have either been defunded or will not provide assistance unless I'm in the process of being evicted.

Though I consider myself to be privileged, given what others are going through, I have struggled financially since relocating to Colorado. I moved here to attend nursing school and begin my career as an ER nurse, and though it has not been remotely easy, I know that I made the right choice. I am wholly dedicated to and genuinely love healthcare, finnicky as it can be to love me back...case in point. Creating this GoFundMe is my last resort. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you even taking the time to read this, and I look forward to being able to reciprocate the support in the future.
