Help Removing Harmful Asbestos
Donation protected
Hello Friends & Family,
I am so embarrassed to actually be creating a go fund me for something like this, I just don't know what else to do and our little family needs help. We just bought our first home, and we feel very blessed to be able to do so during a time like this.
However, after closing on the house we found asbestos in our popcorn ceiling. We understand that there is buyer due diligence, but being first time homebuyers with no experience we put our trust in the home buying system and missed it completely. We did find later that this was not disclosed before the sale.
I have been trying to get help but the people I have talked to think something like this is not a big deal. To my mama heart it is a VERY big deal, not to mention that I have a family member that just passed because of exposure to asbestos.
Here is the issue at hand:
The ceiling is chipping and falling on the ground. Kyler and I have called and gotten many quotes, and in order for us to remove it SAFELY we need to use an asbestos certified company to do it. It is EXTREMELY expensive.
The hard part is that we have to be out of our rental by the 19th of December. SO either we seal the asbestos in the house or we get it safely removed.
I am six months pregnant and I really don't want to risk trying to do it ourselves and bring harm to my 3 year old and our newborn that will be here in March.
We found a very kind contractor that is willing to remove it for only $4,000. This is a VERY generous offer and if we didn't just clean out our finances on the house we would be able to cover the costs.
All this to say, we are humbly asking for help. We will also be posting items for sale to help raise the funds so if you like some of those items know that the money will be going towards a good cause.
If you wish to donate in a different way, because Go Fund Me takes out a certain percentage you can text me at [phone redacted] or you can absolutely venmo your donation to @Savannah-Busby-2.
Blessings to you as you read this, if you aren't able to help please pray that God will open doors for us.
Thank you.
