Need Help Removing a Dangerous Dead Tree

My name is Terri Warren, and I am fundraising for a friend whose tree on her property died during one of the recent storms and is currently being supported by another tree but will definitely fall at some point. The tree is slowly moving toward falling, and my friend, Barbara, is afraid that, when it falls, it may fall on someone and kill them.

Barbara, who is disabled and in a wheelchair, took me in when I was in a homeless shelter and provided me with a home. Her kindness has inspired me to try to help her resolve this emergency situation.

She has spoken with many tree experts, all of whom want complete payment upfront, which, being retired and disabled, she cannot do. Her homeowner's insurance does not cover this. And even though the tree will take power lines with it when it does fall, the power company refuses even to come out to look at it. This fact causes her another concern: the tree will take out the power lines, and the entire neighborhood will be without power until it is restored. This problem is causing her great stress and worry because she has been trying to resolve this issue since it occurred. Any donated funds will be used to hire a tree crew with a bucket truck, who can cut the top branches off the tree before removing the rest of the tree. This will ensure that nothing can fall off the tree to cause damage when the trunk is removed.
