For those who know me, you know insanely hard this is for me, but I am asking for help.

In the middle of the night, one week ago, a tree fell on my house. The house I just bought 10 months ago.

In the past 6 weeks I've had 2 of my 3 horses become extremely sick, one of which I had to make the decision to euthanize, and a different part of this same tree nearly hit my house just days after my horses got sick.

Needless to say, the last couple months have been expensive and heartbreaking.

A lovely local gentleman, recommended by a neighbor, has quoted me $800 to remove the tree from my roof, the one next to the house, and cut down a dead part that could still fall on the house (it's an ancient oak tree with, basically, multiple smaller trunks instead of one large trunk), and move all the pieces to the wooded part of my property outside my fenced area. The next lowest quote I got was $1800 for half the work this man is going to do.

The problem I'm running into is that, because of the above mentioned horse care and euthanasia costs, the majority of my savings are tapped out. I'm working extra shifts to rebuild my savings, but this timing of all of this is really unfortunate.

And for those who may be wondering, my homeowners deductible is $2500, and from what I can see only one on the edge of the roof and the soffit are damaged, which can be repaired later. There are no leaks. I got incredibly lucky in all the bad luck I've had the last couple months, but now I'm going to ask for help.

I know things suck for so many people right now, and if I don't raise a single dollar I understand completely, but it doesn't hurt to ask. The worst that can happen is nothing, right?
