Hello! My name is Raunak Sharda, and I’m a junior at Elkins High School in Missouri City, Texas. I’m also a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, currently working toward the highest rank in Scouting—Eagle Scout. As part of earning this rank, I am leading a community service project: remodeling the Elkins Color Guard room to provide proper storage for their equipment.

The Elkins Color Guard is an incredible group of dedicated students who perform alongside the Elkins Marching Band at football games, pep rallies, and competitions throughout the year. They bring so much energy, pride, and artistry to our school—but right now, their practice room doesn’t have the storage space they need. Equipment like flags, rifles, uniforms, and props are often left piled up or pushed into corners. This makes it hard for the Guard to practice safely and stay organized.

My project will completely transform their room into a clean, functional space with custom shelving, labeled storage bins, mounted racks, and general improvements to the room itself. This will not only improve the safety and efficiency of their practices but will also help them take even more pride in their program and represent Elkins with confidence.

To make this project happen, I’m raising funds to cover the cost of all building materials, tools, paint, shelving units, and supplies. Every dollar raised will go directly toward bringing this project to life. I’ll be organizing a team of volunteers, including fellow Scouts, to help with construction and installation.

This is more than just a school project—it's about giving back to a group that gives so much to our school and community.
