Help Remi Walk, Run, & Adventure Again

Hi everyone,

My name is Kayden Konshak, and this is my youngest son Remi, my 4-year-old English Retriever, best friend, and loyal companion. If you know me, you know Remi. He’s the one who’s always at my side whether we’re running errands, hitting the trails, or just soaking in the sun by the water. Wherever I go, he goes. He’s not just my dog. He’s family. My son.

Over the past few months, I noticed something wasn’t right. Remi had trouble walking after taking shorter walks, and I could tell he was in pain. After a vet visit and X-rays, we were told he has a partial tear in his cruciate ligament (similar to an ACL tear in humans). If left untreated, it will only get worse and eventually impact both legs, his hips, and overall quality of life.

The recommended surgery is TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement), a procedure that will help stabilize his knee and get him back to doing what he loves most: adventuring, swimming, and exploring the world by my side.

Why I Need Your Help
The cost for surgery, diagnostics, medications, follow-up care, and rehabilitation is overwhelming—estimated between $3,000 and $4,000. While I’m doing everything I can to cover what I can, the reality is this is more than I can manage alone right now.

Your support would go directly toward:

✅ TTA Surgery
Procedure (incl. anesthesia & surgical team): $2,500 – $3,200

Hospitalization (1–2 days): $300 – $500

Surgical implants (plates, screws, etc.): $300 – $400
Total: $3,100 – $4,100

✅ X-rays & Diagnostic Imaging
Pre-op X-rays (multiple angles): $150 – $300

Sedation for imaging (if needed): $50 – $100

Bloodwork (required for surgery): $75 – $150
Total: $275 – $550

✅ Post-Surgical Medication
Pain meds (Carprofen, Gabapentin, etc.): $40 – $100

Antibiotics (to prevent infection): $30 – $60

Sedatives (if needed to restrict movement): $30 – $50
Total: $100 – $200

✅ Recovery Equipment & Follow-Up Care
Support sling or harness for walking: $30 – $50

Orthopedic dog bed: $60 – $150

Cone or soft recovery collar: $20 – $40

Follow-up X-rays (6–8 weeks post-op): $150 – $300

Physical therapy (optional but helpful): $40–$100/session × 3–5 sessions = $120 – $500
Total: $250 – $600+

Estimated Total Range:
$3,725 – $5,450
Every dollar raised is a step toward giving Remi the pain-free, happy life he deserves and helping me continue to give him the love, freedom, and adventure he’s known since day one.

The Bond We Share
Remi came into my life when I didn’t even realize how much I needed him. He wasn’t just a puppy—I swear he was a piece of my heart I hadn’t met yet. From the moment he looked up at me with those big, bright brown eyes, something clicked. He’s been my constant, my peace, and my joy ever since. From sunrises on the water to late-night walks, he’s been there for it all. The world is simply better with him in it; happy, healthy, and able to run like the wind again.

Remi has seen me through every season, both in life and out in the world. He’s the one who sat quietly beside me on the hard days when I felt like I had no words left to say. He’s the one who made me laugh when nothing else could. And when life felt heavy, he was always there, nudging my hand with his nose, howling like a husky, and reminding me that even in the chaos, there’s love. Always.

Some of my favorite memories are of us by the water—Remi diving in without hesitation, tail wagging like crazy, then climbing up on shore to shake off and drench me like he planned it. Or watching him charge full speed down a trail, ears flapping, tongue out, as if the world belonged to him. And in those moments, it kind of did.

Now, seeing him limp, hesitate to jump into the car, or curl up instead of running free, it’s like watching a light dim. And it hurts. It hurts because I know how much life he still has left to live; how many more adventures we still have waiting for us.

This isn’t just about fixing a leg. It’s about giving my best friend the chance to feel whole again. To chase butterflies in the grass. To splash in the lake without pain. To be the Remi everyone knows; the dog who makes strangers smile, the one kids ask to pet, and the one who never leaves my side.

If you’ve ever loved a dog like family, you know the feeling. They don’t ask for much, but they give us everything. And right now, I just want to give Remi what he’s given me: a second chance, and all the love in the world.

❤️ How You Can Help
If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, it means the world to us. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this page would be just as appreciated. Every bit of love, support, and generosity brings Remi closer to healing and back to the life he loves.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this, support us, and help give Remi a second chance to run free.

With gratitude,
Kayden & Remi
