Help Remi Breathe: Support Her Heart Treatment
Donation protected
Here I am, in my purest form of desperation. We adopted Remi (formerly Cosni) from Camp Companion in January after losing our Kita girl in December. She has been the perfect addition to our family. She is sweet as pie and absolutely adores my kids.
After seeing some worrying symptoms in our sweet Remi girl, we took her to the emergency vet on 5/3/25. After lots of testing and scans, they determined that she is in heart failure. Her heart is currently twice the size it’s supposed to be, which is in turn making it really difficult for her to breathe. They believe that it is congenital and that she was born with holes in her heart that never closed. She currently remains hospitalized in an oxygen kennel tonight and is recommended to be transported up to the U of M for a further work-up with a cardiologist. Just tonight’s stay cost over $4,000 and the additional testing and hospitalization is estimated to cost between $2,000 and $6,000. If they find it’s something surgically fixable, we will explore that route.
As a single mom of 2, this is not an expense that I ever anticipated having to afford. Anything that anyone is willing to donate would be more than appreciated.
