Help Relocate The Soapy Bee Country Store
Donation protected
My name is Michele, and I own The Soapy Bee Country Store and Cafe at 243 Main Street in White Haven, PA. This award-winning business is the result of my entire life savings and two years of dedication, creating a welcoming space for the community—especially for our elderly neighbors who need a safe, friendly place to gather.
The store is stocked with merchandise from women owned companies and Veteran owned companies because we believe in both!
Over the past 2 years, I’ve made so many friends through The Soapy Bee—people who have become like family. The love and support from our residents and those in surrounding areas is what keeps me passionate about what I do.
Unfortunately, the building I’m in is now for sale at a price that just isn’t realistic for our type of business and staying put may no longer be possible for me.
Since there may not be available spaces to lease in White Haven, I’m exploring options in nearby towns that are still close enough for my loyal customers to visit. Relocating my business means facing significant expenses: moving costs, build-out fees for a new space, loss of income during the transition, and the upfront costs of securing a new location. These challenges are daunting, but I’m determined to keep serving the people who rely on The Soapy Bee.
We have over 2,400 followers, and I’ve been able to employ seniors who benefit from getting out of the house and connecting with others. Last year, I hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for empty nesters—a beautiful evening that brought happiness to people who might otherwise have spent the holiday alone. Your support will help me cover the costs of moving and setting up a new home for The Soapy Bee, so I can continue to provide a place where everyone feels welcome. Every contribution brings me closer to keeping this special community space alive in our area.
If it all works out and a new owner has the heart to leave my business, your safe haven where you enjoy homemade meals and comfort in place, I will donate any funds to The Wilkes Barre VA.
