Help Relocate Our Yoga Studio

Hi friends my name is Ashlee, owner of Ashlee's Crazy Yoga. I started Ashlee's Crazy Yoga back in 2016 at 19 years old back when I was working at The Home Depot. I learned about the power of manifestation and journaling. I used to sit and daydream and journal how I envisioned my yoga studio to be one day. I took my vision seriously and began saving for yoga teacher training. After two years of training, I achieved my 200-hour yoga teacher certificate and finally became a yoga teacher! I began teaching all over South Eastern Wisconsin. Fast forward, to one day casually looking at Craigslist I found the perfect space for our first studio location in South Milwaukee. We opened on February 29th, 2020. I had opened the youngest black-owned yoga studio at 22 years old and during a pandemic! We were there for two years but unfortunately had to end our lease because the owner of the building was getting older and couldn't decide if they wanted to sell the building or re-lease it at a higher price (not the price listed in our lease renewal contract.) I felt stuck leaving our community, students, and teachers uninformed about when the last day at our studio would be so I tried to organize a GoFundMe in 2022 as an attempt to purchase the building with a downpayment but we fell short. I had to switch to virtual classes and begin teaching from home. My family has taken a huge financial hit. Our community thrives off of connection and human connection so having a physical space is crucial.

I am asking for your help today to move our studio to the Midwest Market in Racine. The Midwest Market is a beautiful upcoming space with over 40+ small business owners. There is a food court and plenty of shops with handmade goods. There is a 1,000 sqft space almost available for rent. We will need help with Uhaul moving expenses (unless we have friends with pick-ups who can help), a few months of rent as we establish our studio in a new county, occupancy license in Racine is $250, Insurance is $325 annually and we may need to add some flooring and a little paint as this is a barebones unit. I will also need help with getting a hoopty for transportation as I share a car with my husband. We already have a class set of mats and equipment in storage from our previous space.
