As many of you know I taught early elementary for 9 years and will forever be a teacher at heart. I strive every day to help kids in as many ways as I can!

For the holiday season I’ve decided to raise money for a special cause. Money raised will be sent to my kids’ elementary school (which will remain unnamed for safety purposes) to relieve as many families as possible of their overdue lunch balances.

For some families, seeing that yellow envelope in your child’s binder, or seeing that email with the dollar amount in red can bring an intense amount of stress whether you owe $2.50, $15.00 or $50.00.

Let’s take the weight off of some of these families this holiday season so teachers don’t have to keep reminding kids that their account has an overdue balance.

I know we’re about to be out shopping and spending hundreds of dollars on stuffed animals, clothes, video games and bath sets for people we love here soon, if you haven’t started already.. so I urge you to take one minute and share $5.

By doing so you’re filling my heart, you’re helping a parent with a nagging financial burden and you’re helping a kiddo rid of that flag that pops up every time they checkout at lunch with their friends nearby.

My end goal for this holiday season is $500. I’d love to knock that outve the water.
