Adrian's Top Surgery Fund - for 2024

Hi everyone,

My name is Adrian, I'm a Spanish dancer, a student, and a trans person.

I began my transitioning journey a couple of years ago, and I've been lucky to have a lot of support from my community and the chance to be able to go through some aspects of transition, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), covered by my National Healthcare System. Though I have signed up for top surgery through this same system, the waiting list can be as long as 5 years. For this reason, I've researched a private clinic to get my surgery as soon as possible, and I've checked out Miguel Fernández Calderón, who is the cheapest while having excellent results that I would be excited to have. The price of this surgeon is about 3700€ (including the surgery and the post-surgery care). I'll have a consultation with him at the beginning of 2024 and I expect to get the surgery by Summer 2024.

I'm going to start job-hunting by February next year, but even with the help of my parents, with an entry-level job salary, it would take me too long to save up what I need. I'm in desperate need of this surgery, so, while I'll be donating to my campaign, even the smallest help from you will help me achieve my goal faster and stop the detrimental effects my chest is having on my mental health.

I've been wanting to get rid of my chest for years now. Firstly, it is a huge burden on my physical body, I'm struggling with back and chest pain. Mentally, it is very damaging to my self-esteem and confidence, impacting my ability to grow as a dancer and use my body freely.

Because of all of this, I started binding a year ago. Though it has helped me to see my chest become flatter, it is not enough for the size of my chest. I take all precautionary measures and bind healthily, but it still has aggravated my pain and, while it relieves some of the dysphoria, I don't pass with or without it and I still can't live my life normally. This surgery becomes necessary for me to live a life that is worth living without worrying about my body and my self-presentation, it would allow me to live with the tranquility of my outside appearance matching what I feel inside.

Any donative, however small, or the kindness to share my campaign will help me achieve my goal. I am eternally grateful to the people that have helped me so far and I am hopeful things will turn out for the better and I'll be able to live a better life.
