Help relieve medical debt stress for an amazing mom.

Hello, my name is Deserae and I'm writing this GoFundMe for my mom.

Back in May, she was hospitalized after having a stroke. After a long medical journey, including 9 days in the hospital, 30 days of shots after release, and 3 weekly treatments in Columbus, we now know that my mom has a rare autoimmune disease. After release, she's been happier, and there has been more light in her eyes knowing she's out of that hospital and on the mend. And I think it's safe to say she's been mostly enjoying her medically forced retirement... until they started to receive things in the mail: medical bills. From $2300 for the ambulance ride to $1300 for an MRI, my parents are paying off what they can as diligently as they can. But the stress of the cost of living and seeing these bills has really caused mom's mental health to decline, and in turn, she's not able to take care of herself in the best ways to keep her healing and healthy. I am here humbly asking for help to reduce the stress and help ease the life of one of the kindest humans I've ever known. My mom has touched countless lives as long as she's been around. She's taught me to be bright and understanding and kind. She's taught me to love nature and show compassion for all living beings. Now I am here humbly asking that if my mom has ever touched your life in a positive way, you'll help us share this GoFundMe to help give a little back to a woman who would give away the shirt on her back if all you did was ask.

Living with an autoimmune disease has never been easy, but at least now we know what's going on so we can help my mom live her life in the best, easiest of ways. This fund will pay off medical bills and anything past that will be used for things to help make my mom's life a little less stressful, such as mobility aids, grocery delivery, an accountant or advocate to help them figure out the legalities of retirement, and to help manage their finances. Anything helps, any share helps. The medical system in the United States is so messed up, I truly believe the sick should not have to worry about their medical bills and should only have to worry about healing.
